Cody Armstrong belts one against Alcoa
Hi there everyone. It’s Sunday evening and after a week of softball and baseball delays, it is a great accomplishment that both the baseball and softball teams are District 3-AA tournament champions. District Champions! That sounds so good and is reflective of the dedication of the coaches, players, and parents who have made each program a couple of the best in the area. District Championships are an accomplishment in any sport, but to do a double in baseball and softball is a great feat. In East Tennessee’s Class AA only Gibbs and Unicoi are the home of double district champions. Several schools have both programs at the regional level including Grainger, Pigeon Forge, and Seymour.
Both programs have been very successful in the past few years and brought great publicity to Gibbs and the community. On Monday both teams are hosting regional games. Softball host Kingston at 6pm and baseball host CAK at 7:30. What a great time to be on campus. I hope to see great support as each team continues its post season journey.
