School’s out, summer is upon us, but Gibbs athletics is still on my mind. I know, don’t I ever get tired of it?!?! Well, not really. I enjoy the student-athletes, coaches and parents. I enjoy the games, I enjoy watching the practices. I just really enjoy Gibbs sports. After a few weeks away from the end of spring sports, I will take this opportunity to look back and review the 2008-2009 Gibbs sports year.

On Wednesday night I had the opportunity to attend the 2009 Lady Eagle basketball banquet. As most of you know, I have the opportunity to be close to Gibbs athletics and have attended several post season banquets. I enjoy going. As most of you know, the Knox County School Superintendent has proposed a later start date for several schools in the system as a cost saving measure. With Gibbs being one of those schools, there have been several questions about how the late start would affect Gibbs athletics. Keep reading →
